이상덕 청장, 9일 전주 대회장 등 찾아 “차질없이 준비” 약속
오는 10월 전북 전주에서 개최되는 제22회 세계한인비즈니스대회의 성공 개최를 위해 현장 점검에 나선 재외동포청장이 전북자치도와의 협조를 비롯한 전폭적인 지원을 약속했다.
이상덕 재외동포청장은 대회 개최 한 달 반여를 앞두고 9일 대회 현장 전반에 대한 점검에 나섰다.
올해로 22회째를 맞은 세계한인비즈니스대회는 오는 10월 22일부터 24일까지 3일 동안 전북대학교 일원에서 열리며 국내외 재외동포 기업인 등 3천여 명이 참가하는 재외동포 경제인들의 최대 행사다.
이 청장은 기업전시관이 들어서는 전북대학교 대운동장을 비롯해 개회식이 열리는 삼성문화회관, 각종 프로그램이 운영되는 진수당, 환영만찬 및 폐회식이 열리는 실내체육관 등을 살피며 준비 상황과 앞으로의 추진계획을 점검했다.
또한 재외동포 경제인들에게 쾌적하고 안전한 숙박 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 해당 호텔을 찾아가 객실 확보부터 시설 상태 등에 대해서도 확인했다.
아울러 대회 참가자들의 원활한 접근 보장을 위해 주요 동선별 셔틀버스 운행, 주차 공간 확보 등 교통 대책은 물론, 각종 사태에 대비한 안전관리 대책에 대해서도 살펴봤다.
이상덕 재외동포청장은 “준비가 잘 되어 있어 기대가 크다”며, “앞으로도 자주 내려와 전북자치도와 차질 없이 준비해 성공적으로 대회를 치르겠다”고 말했다.
김종훈 전북특별자치도 경제부지사는 “대회가 임박한 만큼, 빈틈없는 행사 준비를 위해 노력하고 있다.”며 “전북자치도도 재외동포청과 유기적으로 협력해, 성공적인 대회 개최를 이끌어 나가겠다”고 말했다.
OKA Commissioner Lee visits Jeonju venue and others on Sept. 9, promises to ensure ‘smooth preparations’
Overseas Koreans Agency Commissioner Lee Sang-duk pledged full support for the 22nd World Korean Business Convention (WKBC), which will be held in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do (Jeonbuk) in October, including cooperation with the provincial government of Jeollabuk-do.
Lee inspected the event site on Sept. 9, 1 1/2 months ahead of the event.
The WKBC, now in its 22nd year, will be held at Jeonbuk National University from Oct. 22-24 and is the largest event for the overseas Korean business community, with more than 3,000 participants, including overseas Korean businesspeople operating both in Korea and abroad.
Lee inspected the Jeonbuk National University Stadium, where the corporate exhibition hall will be located; the Samsung Culture Center, which will house the opening ceremony; Jinsudang, where various programs will be held; and the indoor gymnasium, where the welcome dinner and closing ceremony will be hosted, to review the status of preparations and forthcoming implementation plans.
He also visited hotels to check the condition of the facilities and the availability of rooms in order to provide comfortable and safe accommodation services for the attending overseas Korean businesspeople.
In order to ensure smooth access for participants, the commissioner also looked at transportation measures, such as shuttle buses along major routes and securing parking spaces, as well as safety management measures to prepare for various events.
“We are well prepared so I have high expectations,” Lee said. “I will continue to travel down frequently to work with the Jeonbuk provincial government to make sure the event goes smoothly.”
“As the convention is imminent, we are making efforts to prepare for a flawless event,” said Kim Jong-hoon, vice governor of economy for Jeonbuk Province. “The Jeonbuk government will flexibly cooperate with the OKA administration to lead a successful convention.”
