2023년 개봉한 미국의 로맨틱 드라마 영화다. 한국계 캐나 다인 셀린 송(36)의 감독 데뷔작이며, 각본 역시 그가 맡았다.

2023년 선댄스 영화제에서 전 세계 최초로 공개됐고, 한국에 서는 CJ ENM이 올해 상반기 개봉될 예정이다.

유년 시절 둘도 없는 단짝이었던‘나영’과‘해성’ . 두 사람은 그러나‘나영’의 가족이 이민하게 되면서 헤어진다. 그 후 20 여 년 만에 뉴욕에서‘노라’와‘해성’으로 다시 마주한 두 사람은 운명적 이틀을 함께 보낸다.

송 감독의 자전적 경험이 담긴 이 영화에서 주인공 역은 한국계 미국 배우 그레타 리가, 상대역은 한국 배우 유태오가 각각 맡아 열연했다. 대부분의 대사는 한국어로 이뤄졌다.

지난해 1월 선댄스영화제에서 처음 상영돼 호평받은 뒤 베를 린국제영화제 경쟁 부문에 초청됐으며, 미국 독립영화 시상식인 고섬어워즈 최우수작품상과 전미비평가협회(NSFC) 작품상을 받았다. 송 감독은 올해 1월 10일 미국감독조합(DGA)이 수여하는 신인감독상 후보에 올랐다. DGA는 제76회 시상식의 ‘첫 장편영화’ (First-Time Theatrical Feature Film) 부문 감독상 후보로 송 감독을 지명했다.

2This movie is an American romantic drama film released in 2023. The movie is the directorial debut of Korean Canadian Celine Song (36), who also wrote the screenplay. It was released for the first time worldwide at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, and CJ ENM is scheduled to release it in Korea in the first half of this year.

During childhood, Nayoung and Haeseong are best friends.

However, the two break up when Nayoung’s family immigrates.

After 20 years, the two people meet again in New York as Nora and Hae-seong and spend two fateful days together.

In this film, which is based on director Song’s autobiographical experiences, the main character is played by Korean American actress Greta Riga, and her counterpart is played by Korean actor Yoo Tae-oh. Most of the dialogues are delivered in Korean.

After its first screening at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023 and receiving favorable reviews, the film was invited to the competitive section of the Berlin International Film Festival and won the Best Picture Award at the Gotham Awards, an American independent film awards ceremony, and the Best Picture Award from the National Society of Film Critics (NSFC). Director Song was nominated for the New Director Award awarded by the Directors Guild of America (DGA) on Jan.

10 of this year. The DGA nominated Song as a candidate for the Best Director Award in the First-Time Theatrical Feature Film category at the 76th Awards Ceremony.
